Hey all, I'll be visiting my dad in Philly and would love to get out for a trip to Gretna to go bouldering. I climb in the V4 range at my gym and V3 outside with the little out door experience I've had over my 2 years of climbing. I'm from Boulder, Colorado and have been climbing trad in Eldorado Canyon mostly, or bouldering at Rotary Park in Fort Collins, Colorado.
I would love to get out for an over night trip and spend 2-3 days climbing, camping, and hanging out making new friends. I should have transportation of my own and I'm an awesome camp cook!
Hey im reading your post here and I would be up for getting on board for that. I live, at most, 20 min from gretna area in Hershey. I'm not as experienced as you, I just started my climb ~6 months ago. I'm just getting my fingers on some v3s in my gyms here. I can probably work out V2s alright outside, but I don't get out much by myself. I prefer to have spotters, and my friends aren't as eager as me. I have a couple pads. I'm ready if you have a game plan.
Might I reiterate, I live close so you don't really have to plan anything so much with myself. Just send me a message if your over there on a weekend, I'm always off and can easily shoot over there.
Also, I mostly wanted to note that should you not feel safe; the state gamelands at gretna have a great cooperation with boulderers and have posted signs and maps on trails and entrances to tell you where the spots are and there is plenty of make your own. Just wanted to give you the safe idea of not meeting up with strangers. You can go there and find the boulders and with the area specific downloadable content for this area you'll be able to make out well enough routes by yourself if need be. Time frame; over grown and ticks. I wear all long sleeves any time I go.
