I have this weird , intermittent sharp pain on the TOP of my index finger between the most distal joint and the middle joint. I suppose it is an irritaion of the extensor tendon sheath. However, I'd like to hear if others have experienced this and what they think it is. Ive been training and climbing pretty hard lately and have been ice massaging several times at night. Obviously, I should rest my hands, but the pain seems to be there one week and gone the next. Thoughts?

Cross training and no climbing for six weeks. Be a good patient give it some time to heal.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
