This is the last campground before dropping down into the Colorado Desert. It is about 1.4 miles past Belle Campground.
It's not a real popular area. The routes are short and rock quality, varied.
It is worth visiting. The Arch is cool and there are some interesting looking formations in the area.
The Saturn Boulder is about 1/2 mile to the north and is worth checking out.

Getting There

Park at Arch Trailhead parking. Follow the trail until just past the Arch. A well worn path leads east from here. It heads into a wash, then up the other side. This leads to most of the climbing and "Grand Tank".

Falling from the crux is kind of a clanger into the underside of the dike. Not a bad fall, but not that great either as you are outstretched and sketched before it all goes bad.History: Loads of us would go out to this area to boulder and naturally this monster caught our eye. After tons of tries to boulder this out over a p...[more]   Browse More Classics in CA
