Description

For now right side of 'Senior Citizen' route start. Belay at the same large pine tree. A better star would be doing 'Beat the Heat' to the pine tree. From there climb up the left wall of the groove. Then climb a short head wall and exit right below many stacked blocks. Move right below these blocks and step across dirt slope. Surmount a bulge and move into the chimney dike. Exit dike 10 feet up on the left side (crux). Climb over a steep bulge and onto big ledge. Climb wall above on the cental left side until the quartz section is reached (crux). Belay right at oak tree. Final pitch is done by moving up left and climbing past chocks stones to enter lichen covered wall. Exit wall at large pine tree and belay higher on the outcrop at a birch tree. Hike up to the Crows nest trail or down climb the rope ladder to 'Giant Man' start. Much variety of rock maneuvers and still dirty in places. I may add another star when it is cleaned up more. The third pitch is as clean as it will get and can be skipped. Also there is a hand and then foothold rock that is cammed in the wall. It is fine as long as you don't pull to the left on this 10lb rock. I rated this pitch (5.3). This route is an old fashion Rattlesnake Snake classic.

Location

'Senior Citizen' start. Walk off onto the trail to the Crow's Nest'

Protection

11 bolts, the trad gear is small stoppers, small to medium tri-cams and a (3.5) friend.
