I was somewhere southeast of Crown Rock, on the north side of Gregory Canyon yesterday. Found a few established problems that I can't identify. Anybody recognize them?

Pocketed face.

Big pothole.

Ridgeline for reference - looking north.

I went back yesterday with some better beta-- these are directly south of Alamo Rock maybe 100 yards. The one with the pothole is about 50ft further downhill from the little wall with the pockets. The line I did was really fun, around V0-1 and thuggy. Still no idea what they're called; I might post them up with temporary names and see if that attracts any historians.

The first picture appears to be the South Face of the complex of rock Pat Ament called the Erasable Boulder maybe 40 years ago. There are a few problems and variations there. I refer to it as the Erasable Boulder Complex, because its not really one boulder.

The second picture is what I have referred to as The Pyramid, but it has never appeared in any guidebook. There are 4 or 5 problems on it as well.

In total, I've done 90 problems on the Alamo Rock Ridge. Some of the best rock and moderate problems on the mountain are found here. This area does not lend itself to hard problems because the holds tend to be large. Love this area as it is almost always quiet.

Thanks, Chip. You're right, it's a nice, quiet spot to decompress after work.

I've started cataloguing some of the routes I've tried here

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
