Where to climb near Tennessee?

I'll be following my girlfriend down to Knoxville this coming November for a conference and we'll have over a week after its done to hang out. Does anyone have any suggestions on places to go? We'll have a rental car, so we'll be able to travel to bordering states. I doubt I'll be doing any trad by then, so easier sport climbs or good top rope (5.10ish and easier) spots would be preferred. Thanks!

Definitely check out Obed and Lilly boulders about an hour from Knoxville ...awesome sport in a wide range of grades. Pick up th guidebook from Greener Grass for all of the details. Without leading trad, your options are more limited. NC is a great climbing state but sport and toprope is pretty rare compared to trad. Chattanooga is another good option, but again, leading trad would open up multitudes more routes and areas to you and without it, you are limited.

Tennessee is great!

Obed has some sick sport leads under massive roofs.
Down by Chattanooga you have a variety of options. Sport climbing at Foster Falls, bouldering at LRC (Stone Fort), quick trip into Georgia for bouldering at Rock Town. Quick trip into Alabama for sport climbs at Sandrock.

Check out Dixie Cragers Atlas for a good guidebook. There is alot of trad, but alot of good sport as well.

Good luck!
