When is the best time of year to buy climbing gear

I am looking to buy some hardware. It isn't a particularly pressing need right now, so I figured I can wait until they go on sale. What is generally the best time of year to buy gear?

on MP right now, there are a bunch of crazy good deals out there right now

Cams tend to be summer crops, hexes fall and stoppers and pitons spring.

Of course you can get them all out of season, but who wants stuff picked green, shipped from Mexico or Argentina and gassed to ripen like tomatoes?

Black friday online sales hands down are the best. Keep an eye on MP because people will post deals. I remember some dude scored camalots for like $36 each by using coupons during a sale

I bought a lot of gear and did pretty good (avg 25% off) last November watching the dirt bag deals on MP and the links posted on gear Lab. you can probably do better if you are patient. For some reason I had to have it now, which was weird because living in the North East I wasn't about to use it any time soon

gearexpress just posted up a sale going on now. anybody everbody has a sale every now and then. watch the ads,,and shop out of season when they are unloading last years 'model' of shoe, rope, hardware, etc.

Anytime it's on sale. There are memorial day sales, labor day, pre-xmas, post xmas, forth of july.
