Hey everyone, So here is the deal; I recently fractured my fibula and possibly tibia (in a stupid non exciting non climbing accident). So this is my question, what did you do to not go crazy while out of commission with an injury? Thanks in advance -John

It might be best to simply use the words of the great Wolfgang: "We must ignore the notion of reaching for holds softly, because at our limit, there is nothing soft to reach for. Make your grip a vice, or forget it." Fingers and core ought to keep you busy.

A number of folks I know went back to school, learned a new skill like programming, got in a relationship... New jobs and marriages resulted. Tib/fib might not keep you down for long enough for any of those, which may be for the best... Good luck in your recovery.

Thats true, I plan on doing lost of upper body and core but at the end of the day there is only so much of that you can do, I am really looking for other things to occupy my time with besides the obvious of reading and watching movies. Also I like that quote, whats it from?

Find a girl and actually pay attention to her. Of course that'll end once you start climbing again but by then, she'll have picked out matching pillowcases and won't want to leave you.

It's always been my dream to take some time off from climbing to jetski around the world.
