Tony B wrote:
Ah ha. JQ do you believe in a stimulus-response model for human behavior? Attention, yes, but are you: A) So freaking stupid you still confuse attention with behavior? or B) So freaking stupid you just can't read what is being discussed? I've had better and more intellectual conversations with a 2 year old. Seriously. But I like kids- they are still growing. However, tomorrow YOU will be the same freaking idiot. Because if you insist that there is a nurture side to things, then the only possible place to go with that, would be that you could CONDITION the response to that stimulus. Really, I don't have any other questions for you. May your relationships with women bring you all that you deserve...

Ouch, resorting to childish ad hominem attacks again proving that you are:

A. So stupid that the complex feedback loop created by the nature/nurture relationship is beyond your grasp.
B. So Childish that you continue to argue against things I never said because its the only way you know how to win arguments.
B. Lack capacity for reflection which is why you are so confused how attention influences behavior.
C. All of the above.

I never said you couldn't condition people, in fact, that was my whole point, that you would have to condition people to get guys to stop looking at girls climbing in yoga pants. My point was that for this girl to have her cake and eat it too half the human population would have to have their biological impulses trained out of them.

It is sad that this conversation made you resort to childish name calling and personal attacks, but hey, that's what feeble minded individuals do.

Why do these articles have to be gender-based at all? I've run into a shitload of really awesome, helpful, friendly people at crags, and a few assholes. Articles like this pretty much amount to saying "some of the assholes have been guys, so it must mean guys are jerks."

Ahhhh, remember the hair and pay tribute to it.

Uhhhh, I apologize for not reading the previous 13 pages, well actually I don't, but here is some more food for thought from Jackie, who has been on a year-long road trip after quiting her job as a high school art teacher.

I'm throwing this in the ring despite my suspicion that this thread has detiorated (risen?) into something much different.

Well, you are FINALLY in an area of your expertise.
It's amazing how you hone in on that so finely when I imitate your posting style.

Think it over.

I would also like to nominate Tony B for the most emotionally needy. That is usually what is going on when people insist on having the last word, even if it is days later and no one cares.

These two qualities remind me of a terrible ex girlfriend, she talked a lot about stuff she didn't understand, and she always had the last word.

Only the young ones do. Older ones are shrewd enough to carry either just 2-3 hand pieces or only finger-size cams, and make you carry a rope because they're "carrying a rack".

Us gals always carry a "rack" so if we we "only" carry 2-3 hand size and finger size pieces, well we still carry two racks..... Right?!?!?! Thus the dude should carry the rope......

And by the way, some of us rather put up the OW ourselves........

Yeah. Except my "rack" has more mass than most of those "climber" chicks with their A cups, and I'm always carrying a "rope" of man meat too. So I'm carrying two ropes, both about 8lb worth. Right?!?!?! Thus you should stay home, make dinner, and look after the babies and leave the man sport of climbing to the men folk.

It's highly unlikely that your "rope" is bigger,, heavier, or nicer than my 9" Valley Giant....... So you should probably stay home.......
