DescriptionSitting waaay out in Howard's Draw is the Whale Shark Boulder, worth visiting for the two superb arete problems climbing either side of its striking overhanging prow. There is also a tricky dyno on the nearly blank trail side of the boulder, and a wall behind the boulder with some decent moderate problems. The Whale Shark is located in a beautiful, wide meadow and seems to rarely see traffic, making it an ideal escape on a crowded weekend day. Getting ThereFollow the main trail from the parking lot until it splits off to the left, heading to a side draw (Howard's Draw.) Follow the trail into Howard's Draw, passing much good bouldering, until the trail dissipates. Cross the streambed (usually dry) and continue on an old road until you reach a wide meadow. Keep walking and the Whale Shark Boulder will soon appear on the left. Approach time 15-20 minutes.
