You can get to West Point by taking "Short Line Bus" from NYC, it's an hour and a half drive (making all local stops). The bus stop will drop you on the parking lot and picks up there too, there is no terminal or even busstop. Just walk further toward McDonalds (about 5 mins), cut through their parking lot down and follow the road. When you reach Hudson just walk along the tracks about 10-15 mins (careful with trains running a lot there). The routes will be on your left.

So staying on the crag side of the tracks is fine? There's no real reason to actually cross the tracks.

Anyone know what the status is here? A friend of mine was told to leave the area by a police officer on a boat. Pretty weird.

Police on a boat telling them to leave?? That is weird. I was there last fall with no issues, about a dozen other climbers there as well on a Sunday. Was back on here because I am trying to go again soon since it's pretty close to me. I'll update one way or the other.

I took a chance to check the wall out. Poison Ivy wall is open. No issues getting there, and a guy at the marina was helpful with where to park (visitor center).

My friend climbed here yesterday (June 7, 2015), and had no issues. They parked at McDonalds. As far as I know there is still no official agreement with the railroad company, so the legal status of climbing here is murky at best.. But I've been trying to get clear official information about this for the past year, and there is little to be found.
