Description
If you stay on the trail through the Black Jacks heading west toward the North West Territories crag, the boulder field extends further, past the more well know Zig-Zag, Moat and Ricochet boulders. This area has been starting to see a lot more action over the recent years and for good reason! Some of the best quality boulders can be found out here and there is still tons of potential for new climbs.
Explore the slope uphill from the trail and you will find some hidden caves and other gems. Like the rest of the Black Jacks, some of the boulders will be surrounded by runoff after heavy rain or thaw and the area tends to get buggy in the humid months under the thick tree canopy.
When in the area, be sure to check out a few of the classics such as "Fragments of Time", "Twilight Tour" and "Blood Brothers".
Getting There
Be aware that once past the Moat Bldr. you are on private land, so be especially quite, particularly down slope and west of the trail, so you don't disturb the residence.
