Description

This crag features 8 routes, extremely close to the road. Unfortunately, the climbs lack in the length department, and most of the crux sections are tough but short lived. It is not the area for a good, sustained pump, but it is good for a quick burn and some trad practice with nothing too stressful.

Per Nelson Lunsford: this crag is nice when the winds are bad coming down the canyon.

Getting There

From the Stultz trailhead, continue south away from Canon City for 1.25 miles. It's close to the road but hard to see, it's off to your right and has power lines running in front of the wall. Just past the wall there is a small one or two car pulloff.

Last bolted route on the right. Start on the shelf and awkwardly climb through laybacks/arete clipping bolts, sometimes through crappy rock to a traverse ledge with no feet but big jugs to the right for 10 feet, actually kind of fun. Go up into a layback flake, medium large gear, then slight left into sporty careful climbing, the crux is going for the anchors....[more]   Browse More Classics in CO

This spot is nice when the winds are bad coming down the canyon. The bend in the canyon takes the wind up and over this spot.
