No climbing is allowed at Black Rocks from March 15 through June 30 in order to provide an undisturbed environment for Desert Tortoise mating. In addition, all pets in the Reserve must be kept on a leash at all times. This information is a public crowdsourcing effort between the Access Fund, and Mountain Project. Description 

A good welcome to black rocks indeed, this route is a nice way to get started and a nice intro to whats in store for you while visiting. One of the easier routes at the grade, Welcome to Black Rocks won't blow a finger or your confidence.

A low crux with a mellow finish makes this the feel good route of the wall. A difficult start through a bulge and big blocky edges gets things moving. Steepening climbing with a few well placed, but shallow edges help maintain the flow.

Location 

Welcome to Black Rocks sit more towards the west end of The Shady Side between What Was I Thinking and The 5am Lookout.

Protection 

Six bolts and a rap anchor.
