Hey all - me and dudes have free weekend...looking for good ideas for desert cragging/towers.

we're 5.10/11 climbers...minimal aid skills, no hammer gear...looking for a nice car camp and crag area, backpack in and crag area, or easy towers...

we've done lots of the easy trade routes...any newer ideas?

what about beta for dinosaur. i don't see much in mnt project...does the kor route on steamboat rock go free ot hamerless? (probably a dumb question, but can't help to ask..)

also thinking about the swell...haven't spent much time there...

currently considering the swell north, resurection spire then cragging. mountainproject.com/v/utah/…

any good beta for conveinient cragging/good camping?

thanks all for any and all ideas.

Dinosaur isn't really in season right now and the free climbing options there are extremely limited. The rock just isn't that good and its a remote corner of the state, probably the reason that MP doesn't have much info. It is a great place to go check out some of the most radical environments in the country, with solitude. just don't expect to find any wingate splitters or anything.

Check out escalante near delta CO for some great desert cragging, at about half the drive of the utah destinations with car camping a mere minitues walk from the crags. Also colorado national monument impresses me more and more everytime I go there.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
