Water levels at Summersville Lake

Hey,
Planning a trip around the New River Gorge for a week in early April.

I read that certain cliffs are only accessible in the Winter because of lower water levels in the Lake.
Further reading led me to conclude that they release water from the river into the lake in the Spring, thus making routes inaccessible by foot.

Will these routes be accessible in early April? In this context, does Spring mean late March, April, May or "it depends"?

Also, my group consisting of 4 climbers or so are looking for a cabin. Any recommendations or for that matter, any area beta would be greatly appreciated.
