Hey gang,

I noticed a relatively dated review on the BD Half Dome helmet. Does anyone else have a review of a helmet? I don't ice climb, and I've got a pretty big noggin.

Thanks everyone.

If you go over to supertopo they have an extensive review on helmets...

Got 3 BD's Half Dome, me n kids love 'em. Very adjustable. Have used Petzl Elios and I like this one much better. All around performer. Have an extra new one(BD) FS, let me know, I'll ship it.

I also have a "big noggin", and the BD half-dome works great for me. Plus it's highly adjustable so I can wear a beanie under it in cold weather; and it's one of the cheapest helmets out there.

John, thanks for the review link. Solid info there.

Richard, after reading the reviews John linked, I'm definitely considering that BD. How much do you want for it? I'm in western NC if you need to figure in shipping.

I really love my new "Alpine Shield" by Wild Country. Very comfortable and converts from well-ventilated, lightweight climbing helmet to solid mountaineering helmet in minutes with a removable lexan shell. Nice graphics, good fit and finish. Retails around $89.
