This page brought to you by a guy who (despite his claims) hasn't put in any lines or built any trail, or in any way contributed to Smoke Hole or the Guidebook. He and some friends did steal a line while the bolt hangers were pulled for cleaning; using someone else's anchors to drop in an place bolts about four feet from several studs and three pre-drilled holes.
Too bad there's only about 1000 more acres of undeveloped rock waiting for a willing hand, rather than snaking a rather unremarkable line and calling it something as melodramatic as "The Wall of Death"..... please, kiddies...
Of course, their willing hand was probably busy in their laps.
Posts and route beta by Mike Farnsworth are factual, while most of WC's beta is stolen from the Climber's Guide to Smoke Hole Canyon, copyrighted January, 2014.
I've had lines snaked. Like sexual assault, you'll maybe or eventually almost get over it. Bolting 4 ft away from an established line is IMO poor style..but whatever. You may have to color code your hangers.
This route was established in a ground up style, maybe something that you weren't taught along with Internet manners. I find it hard to believe that when I was putting this route up I missed ,while cleaning, several bolt studs? Are you sure they were there? You are correct that the top anchor was in place, however I had no way of knowing that because it was a ground up ascent you asshat.
As for the name its a Richard and Linda thompson song that seemed appropriate for the size of the blocks that needed to be trundled for the route to be safe.
Dude, you got a real problem and I think you need some help. I hope you find someone that can help you see that we are all in this together and that the way you behave doesn't help anything. I hope I see you sometime so that I can give you a hug. :)
