Just a heads up...there is a Black Vulture nest near the base of Alley Ooop on the climber's left end of the ledge that you start the climb from. I noticed a horrible stench coming out from under a large boulder as we approached the climb but had no clue until we were leaving the area. Mom must have been out scavenging when we got there and returned while I was following up the climb. She was non-aggressive but stayed near even as we tried to pass her which was our clue a nest was near-by. Nest is back a ways in a cave formed by a boulder and contained one small chick and an unhatched egg. It might be wise to stay away from the area for a bit so not to stress baby or chick. Also, I imagine the stench was from carrion brought back to the nest by mom and could become unbearable in not too long.

I shouldve posted about this a month ago, theyve been there a while and one flew out and startled a guy coming up onto the mound. If he had lost his balancw that couldve been bad.

You can scramble up the dirty part to climbers right of the mound i know...

That family has lived there for several years. I'm glad they moved in because that cave used to be a depository for toilet paper, tampons, and turds - I think the buzzards chase people away from going in the cave nowadays.

Thanks Mike. Fixed it. That's what happens when you post something after climbing all day and a beer.

Funny, I lead it the other day and was looking for the nest that's usually there. Didn't see one and figured they just moved on. Usually I can smell them before I see them. Good to know, thanks for the update.
