enjoying the traverse in early spring

Traversing around the base of the water tower. Jagged bricks create great holds for your hands and feet. Great for footwork, very long and sustained climbing, but plenty of places to rest.

I spent six days a week for several months in a canyon cataloging boulders and going over every problem I could find to put on mountain project, in that time I found I loved traverses more than all other types of boulder problems. This is my favorite traverse I have ever been on and makes me wish I lived in Seattle just to play on it more, not so much that I would deal with your September-July weather but enough that I will be on it again. If you're in the area, spend some time playing around on the tower, it's in a great part of town, nice park, and it's better than most of the natural problems I've been on.

Try connecting up the halves with a huge stem move across the doors. Great alternative to the gym on sunny days.
