Howdy!

My neighbor came across a bunch of vintage climbing gear in close to mint condition, most of which appears to be from the 70's and early 80's. I am posting here to determine its worth from a collectors standpoint, since it is obviously pretty old to be actually used. It is a mixture of Forrest Mountaineering, Chouinard, and SMC gear. If anybody has any idea on rarity etc. let me know! Excuse my ignorance, I am 21 and have only been climbing since 2012

There are also several pristine (but old) static & dynamic ropes, old school outdoor research rope bags, vintage ascenders, oval biners, and a nut tool/big wall hammer combo.

Thanks for the help yall!

Im pretty sure my neighbor is willing to sell, will have to check with him. All and all probably about 15 pitons, 20 camlocks, 40 various stoppers, and three or four large passive pieces. Also a hammer, swami belt, big wall gear harness, sky hooks, ropes, slings and forrest racking biners etc

If anyone want to contact him pm me for his phone number

The "stopper" you posted looks to be a copperhead of the aluminum variety. An aid climbing tool.

Wish I had FOUND all that gear instead of losing a duffel bag's worth on the side of the road in UT 25 years ago. Nice haul :)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
