BETA PHOTO: Looking west to Monte Cristo peak from the summit ...

Description

Mount Superior is located between Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons and can be easily seen rising above the Snowbird and Alta ski resorts to the north.
The summit area consists of several high points. Most locals call the eastern point Mt. Superior (11,040) and the higher western point Monte Cristo (11,132).

Getting There

Several approaches are possible from both canyons.

Trend right after the largest tower (above Suicide Couloir) to avoid some loose slabs out left. A good view of the route can be seen from the Alta parking lot....[more]   Browse More Classics in UT
