DescriptionDeaf Smith Canyon contains quartzite cliffs that are broken and don't protect well. The routes tend to be short, and overhanging, although not a hard fast rule.As with all but Millcreek canyon, dogs aren't allowed. The water flows year round and it tends to be a cooler canyon than BCC or LCC. If you are looking for a place to explore unfettered by the crowds, this is the place. Getting TherePark at about 8800 S. Kings Hill Dr. Don't block driveways or mailboxes, as this neighborhood is finicky. Hike up the "private road", and past the snowplough shovel. Continue on the trail taking a left at the fork. Don't miss the fork or you will end up in the South Fork, which tends to be a brushy trailless hike, with not any documented climbs. Cross the stream at the grate using the decaying lumber bridge. The alternate approach avoids the bridge, as it stays north of the stream, not crossing on the road at the culvert, but following a faint trail east on the noth side of the stream. Continue on this trail until you reach the routes. The ClassicsMountain Project's determination of some of the classic, most popular, highest rated routes for Deaf Smith Canyon:
