Description

Are you warmed up? Before hopping on the Forgotten Warrior make sure you ask yourself those four words. Besides commitment, the Forgotten Warrior requires poise, a level head, and proper stretching. A casual beginning leads to a small roof with a head wall so thin and blank it makes Jean-Luc Picard's dome look like a jungle gym.

Beginning on easy, but awkward terrain, Forgotten Warrior gets right down to business. The initial crux is a tendon ripping, eye popping, leap of faith. Keep your composure clipping the second bolt and continue through the gauntlet to a good rest. Climb through easier terrain to another larger roof and remember: You're Here To Have Fun! Choose your next moves wisely as you'll need to focus your strength on the upcoming power crux. Accomplish this feat to reach a rest that allows a quick breath for the final and fantastic finish.

Location

Forgotten Warrior is on the far right/east side of the Good Medicine Wall. It sits between The Legend and Peace Treaty and is most recognized by its initial small roof and massive, much higher roof, about 30 feet above.

Protection

Seven bolts plus chains.

This is an awesome climb. The first smaller roof requires moving on hand sized side pulls while moving your feet to the right position for the lunge to a better hold by the second bolt. Once you get there you move up thru some creases, strenuously. The next huge triangular roof is very fun and powerful. Move up right of the roof bolt to a rail and stretch your leg out and rock over on it while going for the upper crimp. Mantle up with your right arm, smear the left leg and go for the bigger hold up higher. This requires strong body tension and locking off the shoulders. You are horizontal when you do this. This is a sweet roof.

If you look at the Legend (10c) foto you'll see Forgotten Warrior which is to the right of the climber.
