This is the sorta square/sorta long squat tower that you pass on your left before you get to Petard Tower.
Getting There
Drive the Valley of the Gods Loop road and park right below the tower. This is the tower on the left BEFORE you reach Petard Tower and AFTER The Sailors. There are two routes that I know of...the original route Pounding Herradura goes up the opposite side of the tower and weaves up to the top via ledges and short cracks. There is a bolt down low that I think James used for a self belay. The other route goes up the dihedral that you see from where you parked your car. I did this thinking it was the original route...never saw a bolt so figured what the Hell. Don't think it had been done before do to the lack of scars and BIG loose blocks that were barely hanging on. Never found an anchor on the top???
