Hot in the summer, cold in the winter; Brown's canyon is a likely treasure-trove of untamed climbs. The rock is sedimentary but mostly solid. You will get occasional breakage, so watch out. Like most of Blanding's climbs, you are not likely to meet anyone who doesn't come with you.
Getting There
Starting at Main and Center in Blanding, head south on Main Street just over 1.5 miles. You will already feel well out of town. Turn left on CR-219, also known as Guymon Ln. Go straight. After one mile, the road will cross Perkins Rd, also known as "Around the World." Keep following the road, although it begins to wander, for another mile until it ends in a gravel pit area. Park the car and hoof it two or three hundred yards due north. You'll see the canyon to the right (east).
