The Cliff Bowl is visible from most parts of Cedar City, down and to the left of the "C." It is on the west side of the hills, so it is sunny in the evenings. This is not a developed climbing area. You may come across a lot of loose rock. Cell service is not likely and it is NOT ambulance accessible.
Getting There
1-2 hour hike, depending on your pace. (There may be a shorter approach from Kolob/Right Hand Canyon Road.) Park near the water tower where 820 South becomes 400 East. Go Southwest up the hill and west down the hill into the creek bed. (I think this is Squaw Creek.) Follow the creek as it wanders mainly south and east until you come to the cliffs. (It's about two miles as the crow flies, probably just over a three mile hike.) There may be water in the creek in the winter and spring. You may have to squeeze through brush in some spots.
Damn! Is that the red-ish looking amphitheater behind Albertson's? Dude, you wanted that one, strong work fo' sho'! IS there any other route possibilities up there?
