Hey, i am a visiting climber from new hampshire. I am flying into slc for a.day.before my partner comes in. I have 24 hours to kill. I'd love to grab some beerer, food supplies check out a gear store, maybe do a little bouldering, maybe some smokey treats. You know, all of the usual pre-desert items. If anyone has an opinion, i'd loved to hear it. I also, would love a bouldering partner if there is any climbing near by. I will travel too, i have the time. I know, sketchy post. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Also, i have friends friends in park city and moab. Is it worth going that far to hang for 12 hours before having to get back to slc to get my partner. Also, camping? How far should i get away from the city to crash somewhere? Blm, a backyard, the mountains... Please shoot me an email or post up if you.have time. Coming in on Wednesday.

Park City is close - about 30 min from the SLC airport and yes, worth checking out. Moab is awesome- 4 hr drive from SLC. New Momentum climbing gym is opening up on 4/15. if you can't find a bouldering partner to go to LCC, check out this gym. It is by the REI on 3300 South and next to IME (gear shop in town).

No. Hang in SLC for a day, get your friend and drive to Moab. Park City is not that far from SLC, just go and hang there instead.

I am living in SLC and would happily show you around some of the bouldering, sport or trad in the cottonwood canyons. I am from VT and climb a lot in Rumney when I'm not living in SLC. PM me if you're interested!

I'd bring at least an ounce during the spring. Temperature will range from low 30s to up in the 80s. Bring an apple as a back up pipe.

If you are looking for some good beer I recommend giving Epic a shot. They allegedly have some good eats at their brewery as well. You can hit some bouldering up in Little Cottonwood.

New Hampshire huh? Isn't that the place you guys will trash out-of-state climbers' vehicles? Lucky for you we are more welcoming. Moab and Zion are both awesome destinations in of them selves. If you're here for a limited time, I would go to either of the two places and stay there to save on driving. Camping in Moab till the 20th is going to be a nightmare with jeep week. Camping in Zion is also a cluster right now and is full. Today the shade in Zion was cold, but the sun is brutal. Like Tug said, 30-80. Not too many climbers in Zion unless you want to get on Moonlight.
