Utah this October?

Hey everyone,

Hoping to explore a bit of Utah this October. The shutdowns may mess with my plans a bit though.

I just left Yosemite, was heading toward Zion first but since it won't be open I'm holding down in Lone Pine a California until things sound a bit more solid.

Been learning trad for the past month while in Yosemite and at this point I feel just about as comfortable with it as I do with sport. In the valley I lead 10a, followed 10d on average - not sure how the valley grades compare to the desert grades though since I've never been there.

If anyone would like to climb though from here to there gimme a shout here!

Most of the best desert climbing isn't on NPS land. The San Rafael Swell and everywhere around Moab that isn't in Arches or Canyonlands will be good to go. You'll find plenty to do if you are solid on Valley 5.10 cracks.

Great to know Andrew- hopefully ill get to climb something in Utah!

As an update my car broke down in Monticello Utah yesterday. Things aren't lookin good and there is a high chance that I may need to abandon my car and sell it :(

If this happens I will be riding my bicycle to Indian Creek, and Moab. If anyone is coming through and my car can't get fixed... A ride would be greatly appreciated. My biggest luggage is my bicycle, I don't have much else... Trying to get back home to Massachusetts but any rides along the way (and especially climbs) would be awesome..
