Strawberry. Obviously the pillar on the right is a gopro disaster waiting to happen but the other two WI4 pillars are good to go. You'll just have to v-thread off them.

Garret! You or Briggs are going to have to show me where these are; must have missed them on my scenic tour in Feb; unrecognizable to me. I had a premonition :') The ice is going to reform in late March while I'm back out...

Was rock climbing up LCC today and on my way out noticed a really big fissure running across the lower section of the first pitch of Scruffy Band that was not obvious from the parking lot. Looking at it coming back from the Lizard Head Wall area, however, it looked pretty bad. I did see guys climbing it at around 11 am. Sam Cannon

Maple is good if you get there early and plan on being done by 12:00. I've been down there three times with in the last week and am amazed at what I am still finding in good condition.

I noticed from the road in LCC Wednesday night that Scuffy Band had a huge crack running across its lower section but the upper portion looked very big still.

GWI was still hanging in there, first pitch looked mealy with rock poking through on the sides of the transition but there was still a strip of ice. Final upper part looked kinda beat and maybe some holes in spots.

I'd guess with the record heat on Thursday, they're both maybe soup right now. Or should be. I'm not sure either climb really collapses but the avy forecast has popped up to considerable with the heat in the snowpack which is also something to consider. A lot of the bigger gullies are running with big wet sluffs. Not a good time to be in any terrain traps and since there's no re-freeze at night, stay out of Stairs and places like that.

I'm callin' 'er done for the season.

Your best bets for ice right now would be Maple and Santaquin Canyons. Sunny-D

Andy and I threw this up earlier this year when the daggers were in. It is really fun. Does the pillar have a name?

So Lancelot is the name of of that smaller WI4/5 spear coming out of the ceiling? Or is it the monster main flow coming over the edge?

All those fun overhanging daggers Andy was jumping on were busy trying to fall on us when we were there.

Lancelot is the dagger line. Was wondering if the large pillar had a name? Reading back from lasts years posts sounds like it has been climbed a few times. Wondering the history on it. matt tuttle

Garret, is this what you and Briggs did on your trip to Strawberry? More importantly do you think it's in for this cold snap on the way? I'm at my Strawberry cabin now...

Went down to Maple today.

Running Man is a little punchy at the bottom but in good shape overall:

The two climbs to the left of Running Man are thin, but climbable with a few easy mixed moves at the bottom.

The Dagger is in good shape:

Maple Syrup is in pretty good shape. Thin and terrifying at the top, but I'm guessing that's pretty standard. Much steeper than it looks (also standard).

I didn't bring my big boy pants and french freed up about 15 feet through the chandeliers.

The bottom is gone so you get to scratch some cobbles on the way up. Clocks in at WI5 M3 A0 the way I climbed it!

No pictures of Cobble Cruncher but the last 5 feet melted off soit would be a dry finish.
