Description
The Upper Ledges cut across Lightning Dome about 400 above the base. These easily walkable ledges provide access to a variety of lines, making multi-pitch linkups of different routes very easy.
Getting There
The Ledges can be reached by climbing any number of routes including Cretins Corner, Black Pine Variation, and Rawl Wall.
Descent
If forced to descend from the ledges, do a series of three double-rope rappels starting at a large slung Ponderosa on the left side of the ledge to connect with the Cretins Corner rappels. From the summit, either walk off to the left (described for Parasite Wall) or rappel Stony Staircase depending on where you left your backpacks.
