Description Suggest change

Climb up face/slab to the first bolt, 15' up, and continue up steepening face past 4 more bolts aiming for a 15' exit crack. Clip last bolt and head for the base of the crack, crux. Gain the crack to not much relief, pull the bulge and finish up the cruiser corner to the trees or the bolted belay on Crescent direct finish.

Location Suggest change

Third line over from Oscar Mayer, next to the purely bolted line, Caveat Emptor.

Protection Suggest change

History Suggest change

Uwe Schneider writes: Touch of Grey was the third route established on the Southwest Face of Mt. Oscar on September 23, 1987. We assigned a rating of 5.9. The name of the route was inspired by the "In the Dark" album by the Grateful Dead. FA: Uwe Schneider and Nancy Fredrickson with assistance from my brother Chris Schneider who died in a skiing accident on Mount Washington in 1995.
