Umbilicals for old style Quarks? Make your own?

I have a pair of the previously styled Quarks and want to make my own umbilicals for them. Any ideas on the connection point? There is no 'biner clip point in the spike, only a minor hole for some cordage.

Yes you should thread a small loop of cord through. I made a pair of umbilicals for myself recently. I didn't include a swivel because the terrain I would use them on I wouldn't be switching my tools more than a few times. With carabiners I think it was less than $20. They are also full strength.

This may help a little...looks like folks also attach on the shaft as well.
