Can I just say what a brilliant climbing scene you guys have here.
My job has just landed me 2 years in Vegas and I live 5 mins from red rock. I've climbed mainly single pitch grit in the UK but I have done a few multi pitches.
I would like to get used to climbing in red rock but with someone who has more experience than I do. I climb UK HVS single pitch and probably VDiff multi. I'm not used to rappelling but I'm a safe climber never the less. If someone has the time to enjoy some easy routes for now until I have a better working knowledge. I'd appreciate it.

I have a standard UK rack but increasing my cams (a UK rarity) so will be good to go. If anyone has the time the. I would be grateful.

I always have a day off during the week and most weekends if that helps. I'm an avid photographer to.

May thanks for taking the time to look. Thanks Jim

Hey Jim, welcome to Vegas!

I climb a little bit lower then HVS most of the time, but I'd be happy to take you out to a few of the easier crags and show you around. Will shoot you a message.

Hey jim ,

Welcome to the US and the valley. Just a heads up on some climbing related things.Vegas has two major facebook groups for climbers Vegas Climbers and LV Climbing Group , they aren't SUPER active but when there is climbing things going on you can usually easily pick up the info there and find people to climb with occasionally.

The local climbing advocacy group here in vegas is the Las Vegas Climber Liaison Council , They usually have an event or meeting at a clip of about once every other month.

Just recently started was a monthly climbers movie night at Bad Beat Brewing as well as a more casual long standing "Climbers meet up and drink beer night" that has a looser schedule and rotates bars depending on who's organizing it. Again this events are usually posted here on the forums or in facebook.

It might be short notice for you but I'm kicking it around the first pullout today working on some topo projects this afternoon if you're wanting to get a feel for the rock in the park (I usually keep some gear in the truck in case I run into someone wanting to climb), its mostly sport climbing on that side of the park but grade wise you can find just about anything you want.

Nicholas many thanks for your detailed reply and information on meet ups etc, I've only just read your message sorry as I'm in work and couldn't get to red rock today. I will likely message you for some more details when I get off work.

Speaking of "Bad Beat Brewing" I noticed they just added a second location on the Westside of town(red rock) at charleston and hualapi in the smiths shopping center(use to be the "outside inn" forever). We'll have to make sure and have a climbers meetup(movie night?) there soon since they've been so supportive.

Just as a heads up, Jim and I got out to RR yesterday and had a blast. Solid partner and a good dude, so feel free to give him a shout.
