Has anyone been climbing in the Uintahs this season? Specifically Ruth Lake? Any info is greatly appreciated. 5555

Me scaring years off my mom's life
Was there this weekend. Perfect day. Needed a jacket for the belays. Probably 70 in the sun and 60 in the shade. A little snow at the base of a couple climbs but not much. Austin Baird

Its very nice up there right now. I haven't been to ruth yet but I was at scout lake yesterday. Still some spots with snow, and the mosquitos are starting to come out so be prepared with repellant... Mattberr

It's been nice up at Ruth, dry and warm in the sun and cool in the shade. Bring some bug repellent. The mosquitos have been biting. Maxwell J. Morrill

Climbed at Ruth Lake with the masses on Saturday (mosquitos were brutal), climbed at Notch Lake on Sunday with my partners and dogs (mosquitos were managed by a strong wind). Perfect temps, fun times. Sitting back and itching the bites and enjoying the memories.

They are blood lusting right now.

Bring all the DEET you own. and a flame thrower.

I'm exaggerating of course. but you've been warned.

Just got back from camping at mirror lake.

+1 for Mosquitos, and flies, and weird giant beetle things.

Perfect temperature up there though. Was nice and cool in the shade and cold at night.

It was busy though, I'd recommend going mid week.

NY on Banana Dance (11d) at Turtle Wall in Saint G...
Did anyone happen to pick up or find an extra guide book while climbing at the Good Medicine Wall (Ruth Lake) on Saturday June 29th (6/29/13)? Me and my friend were climbing there and his book apparently grew legs and walked away. If anybody happened to pick it up please get a hold of me so I can return it to my friend. Thanks in advance. Seems like people were pulled off all over the byway camping wherever. Technically you're supposed to be 1/4 mile from the road but I saw at least 20 people camped in non marked and no pay sites that were visible from the road. All the sites are 14$ and up. We ponied up and got a site just for the fishing access and fire ring. You'll be able to find something for free, especially mid week. Just keep an eye out and play dumb if you get questioned. Oh and don't forget the recreation pass MRock
