Traveling to El Chalten, Argentina.

I was fortunate enough to grow up living in Buenos Aires and Santa Fe, Argentina, and was able to visit some incredible places while living there. Unfortunately, I was young while I was there, and therefore did not know anything about climbing while I lived there. I am now hoping to make it down to El Chalten as much for the climbing as for the experience. From what I can tell getting there is difficult and the flights are expensive. Can anyone shed some light on the most affordable way of getting there from first hand experience? I have done pretty thorough research and just wanted to hear some advice/experiences from anyone who has recently/ever traveled down to that part of the country.
Saludos!

Some good info here:

Flying to Calafate is expensive and bussing all the way there from Buenos Aires would be epically long! You could always take a flight to Bariloche, go climb at Frey for a few days then hop on a bus to Calafate.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
