Hey,
I'm flying into Vegas after Christmas and I'm too broke to rent a car. Is there any public transportation to get to red rock canyon from Vegas that anyone knows of? Any where to stealthily camp nearby (within a couple miles) of the cliffs? Is hitch hiking feasible? Does anybody have any ideas for me, please?

I'm not sure about the transportation, but I'm pretty sure the only free camping is about 45 minutes away.. And the campground nearby costs $15 a night and was pretty crowded when I was there a couple weeks ago.. But it does have pit toilets and drinkable water.

Unfortunately, the answer to most/all of your questions is essentially no.

I'd take the shuttle to Red Rock Casino, walk to the campground (not too bad, possibly hitch), and share a campsite with people. Pretty cheap if you're sharing and likely to find a partner with a car.

Thanks for the info. Decided to postpone the trip until the end of February when flights are cheaper and I can rent a car. There is no climbing here this time of year and I was getting desperate.

Im drive out toward Kraft boulders and the rocks most days. I drive back and forth for work on the Northwest side of Vegas. I'm living in my van on the roadway, and haven't been bothered yet but parking after 9:30 helps. holler if you need a ride.
