Description
A recently developed sport crag near Victoria Park. Located in a pine plantation, Transmitter is sheltered from winds while other Port Hills crags are getting blasted. Routes vary from 8 to 15 m tall in a good range of grades, with the Goat Cave offering wildly overhanging routes in the upper 20's.
Getting There
Get on Colombo street, continue on Dyer's Pass Road to the top of the hill. Turn right at the Sign of the Kiwi then park in a gravel lot on the right about 600 m past the turnoff. Walk up the mountain bike track for 20 m, then turn right on climber trail marked by pink and red tape. Follow this for 10-15 minutes through the forest to the crag
