What do people think? Are they a good value? What has your experience been like with them?

I use them a lot on my rack and really like them, they are lighter and cheaper than the Black Diamond C4 cams. I carry the #6, #7, #8, and #9, which are close to the Black Diamond 1, 2, 3, and 4 cams. For the smaller cams, I have a hodge-podge mix of stuff. I do have have full set of the C4's that stay on my "spare" rack, I stopped carrying them all together in favor of the Flex Cams.

I have had opposite experience. Owned a few of the bigger sizes in the past and just didn't like them, they just don't seem as stable, and harder to place than BDs so I sold them and would never go back (I did like the smaller sizes better than large ones though.)

Get a couple and try them, you might like them. If you do, you could save some money and weight. Obviously they work well for some people, you might be one of them.

I have 2 of these, the green and purple ones. They are pretty cool, they match up with the BD C4s so it's easy to grab them if you have a mixed rack. The extendable sling is pretty cool too. I'd just get the BD ones if you have the money. The metilious master cams are real nice for smaller cams. Check out like robot and Durango cams if you want some cheap ones. I've never used them, but they look the same as the trango ones.

i have the 6, 7, and 8 and like them a lot. i've found them to be relatively easy to place, stable, and i like the trigger action. and, my #6 has saved my butt on at least one occasion.

Pros:
Extremely light
Easy to place
Good sizes/range
extendable sling
great clinking noise
great price

Cons:
Soft springs (walking)
fully retracted trigger doesn't fully retract cams (can make them really really really hard to clean)

I don't have any, but I've used others, and I've noticed that with the size equivalent to a BD#3(blue) the sets of lobes are farther apart than they are wide (at least when cammed into a crack) which make the thing somewhat unstable, it tends to want to twist sideways or get mangled up in there somehow. I've seen more of these things lost in cracks than any other type of camming device. Maybe that's because of the walking factor? Just my $0.02..

I've got a few of these - the smaller sizes (< 7) are pretty good, but the stem gets really floppy with the 8 and 9. I've also got a #1, the splitter cam version that gunks up really easily. Other than that, it's pretty good - taken a few whippers on it. I'd buy the smaller sizes again, but I'd get a BD or Wild Country for the bigger sizes
