BETA PHOTO: The short south face of Training Wall: Pictured ro...

Description

Sunny on the west facing side and shady on the south facing side (due to trees). There are 3 short bouldery routes on the wall and a handful of boulder problems and traverses on the west face as well. There is also a small boulder with a good problem on it just at the left end of the west face.

Getting There

Once you get to the top of the approach trail head past the Beer Block to the Big Pine Wall, then head downhill and curve around to the right when even with the Pirate's Wall and you will see a small block with 2 short routes on the south face and one further around to the right on the west face.

Featured Route For Training Wall
The route is steep but thankfully it's short. A good warm up for the other steep routes at El Rito.

Another steep but short climb at El Rito, this is the most natural (read: easiest) way to climb to the anchors for Just Another Pretty Face. This variation is about 4' to the right of the original route, making it a bit too squeezed relative to the original line, but otherwise it's perhaps an even better line than the original Pretty Face. The crux comes at a reachy move getting to the 2nd bolt. At the last bolt, step left, which will put you above the line for Just Another Pretty Face, and g...[more]   Browse More Classics in NM
