Hi! I work for the Gear Co-op, a climbing shop in southern CA that's also an e-tailer. We recently got back from OR, where I put together daily reports and photos of the gear we most want in our packs for future trips, including big-wall harnesses, approach shoes, quickdraws, cams, and more (see some of it below). Check out the writeups here: blog.gearcoop.com/category/…

DMM's new hinged, magnetic Grip belay device was a shop-wide fave.

Fixe Hardware's new lightweight Alien Evolution cams were our personal "Best in Show" pick.

Thanks! It's great to see that there is hardly any innovation in climbing anymore! No need to replace anything on my rack or in my closet.

I wonder why people need compression socks??? Wonder if their introduction to the world has anything to do with minimalist shoes. . .

Compression socks predate Vibram FiveFingers, and the minimalist shoe trend that followed

I personally like 5 fingers. But I cringe that people are running marathons in them as heel strikers.

They are great for amphibious activities and sprinting/intervals.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
