No pictures, but my friend always modifies his tools…
He even goes so far as to take the hammer off, and then weld the back two pieces of metal together
for an ultra light tool. They are years old now, and have not failed. (BD tools)

Marty, glad you approve! Was worried you'd see this and be super bummed. hahaha...
I just drew a line where I wanted to cut. Used a hack saw to cut, then smoothed it out with a hand file.

Have taken them out a couple of times now. Lovin them. Definitely feels better. Only thing is, I may lower the petzl attachment just a tad

Tool mods? Let's see, I've:
- hacksawed off the hammer
- cut the handle down to make it shorter
- cut handle off and installed wood/FG laminate grips
- made BD-style "fang" and "strike" with epoxy putty
- made trigger finger rest from conduit clamps
- put Petzl picks in other brand of tool
- built my own leash quick release attachment on shaft
- drilled new holes in pick to alter its angle

note - these weren't all on the same tools. Several different types have fallen under my creative touch.

Most of these mods worked out really well. Others, not so much.
