Tips for softening the leather on a pair if shoes

So I have a pair of moccs that got soaked when I was caught in the rain on a walk-off. Since that happened, the leather uppers have been annoyingly stiff, almost "crunchy." I've put at least a dozen pitches in with them and they haven't really changed. Any suggestions?
