I was wondering how many minutes takes most people to climb a route indoors. Both on lead and TR. How long does it take you?

It depends. When you say top,do you mean the summit, or just to the end of the "technical difficulties"?

My nearest Gym has walls anywhere between 30ft and 55ft. I'll TR routes that are a bit above my skill level and either make it within 10 to 15mins or I'll lower and try again (try again later if someones waiting on the rope). If its a climb in my skill set then anywhere between 30 seconds to 5mins usually. Leading doesn't seem to take any extra time since the draws are already hung on the wall.

10 seconds flat!! Does not matter how long/short, hard/easy, steep/slabby the walls are.

This is weird

Might be tired of people hogging ropes at his local gym. Theres a group of 5.9 climbers here that insist on dogging a slabby 5.11c for 30mins each. Ya know because since it doesn't overhang its an easy route.

I was curious how many seconds does it take majority of others to approach from car to the base of climb indoors?
Car-to-car total?
The approach is my least favorite

of course, but if i'm on the route first, you can wait while i hang a few times in an effort to solve the problem and improve myself. that's the whole point of going to the gym in the first place. well, for me it is. others may be there to check the scenery... or be the scenery.

yes, there's a line where 5 people hogging a single rope for 30 minutes is disrespectful. but it's the gym. go climb another equally contrived plastic testpiece, show up at off times, or go have a beer instead. a crowded gym will always piss you off if you let it. personally, i hate the music and all the shirtless, smelly, beard people. ;-)
