Tick (small arachnids in the order Ixodida) high score - BoCan/Eldo/CCC?
slow monday at work, so... |
The title of this thread is misleading: seems more like it's going to be about how many routes were ticked (who climbed the most routes). Not how many ticks were picked. I'm not disappointed though. |
Jon, thanks for the feedback. I don't want to mislead anyone. I've changed the title of the thread to prevent any further confusion. |
haha thanks. One more request; there oughta be two awards: one for quantity and one for quality (like the size of tick). |
Crap, all I had were Mesostigmata |
Locker you're lucky. |
I had 14 at Devil's Lake Sunday, if that counts for anything. |

Other than that one, I've only seen them in photo's.Man you should come climb in CT! Enough ticks to make you vomit and they're all Lyme carriers. . . Last year after a 15 min hike and short bushwack I picked 15+ off me!!! So gross... |

We've been climbing in BoCan the past couple weeks and spotted them crawling on us. Unfortunately I had to pull one off that was attached to my daughter's head last week. Not a fun experience. |
Discovered this one too late! |
Got 5 in Eldo on Friday and another 4 in BoCan on Sunday. Ick |
Ahhh. Jez I bet that was fun lol. |

does anyone regularly apply deet and/or permethrin and notice a difference? |
DEET doesn't do anything for ticks, in my experience. Permetherin WORKS. I've never had a tick on me (or my partners, for that matter) when I've worn clothes sprayed with Permetherin---even in areas heavily known for ticks. |
