A 200-300 foot granite formation with a few established routes and potential for many more. There is also really fun bouldering here!

Getting There

Follow lick creek road untill it turns into eastside drive. Follow eastside drive untill you are on the north side of payette lake. The formation is obvious.

Looking up at the first pitch

Sport route 1 5.10 6b 20 VII- 19 E2 5b  ID : McCall Area : The Thinking Spot
The first pitch of this route goes around 5.7/8 and goes up to a bolted anchor. This is around 100 feet and if you only intend on doing the first pitch you need two ropes to rappell. The second pitch has a definite crux pulling over a bulge. Very fun and protected by a bolt at your waist. Two bolt anchor on the top. You could rappell the route, but the walkoff only takes ten minutes....[more]   Browse More Classics in ID

This may seem obvious to most, but do not try and rap off the bolts that are on top of the rock to the climbers right just the the left of the arete. Your rope WILL get stuck, and you will have to ascend the rope to free them.

This is a really fun little crag! Beautiful setting, good rock, and a straightforward trail back to the base, what more could you ask for? Morning shade, afternoon sun.

Great spot close to McCall. We made it out here while vacationing in the area. Quality granite sport climbing. In addition to the routes in the topo picture there are 3 shorter routes to the left of the trad climbs that are also in the 9+ - 10 range.
