Description

This wall contains the largest collection of moderate routes in the state and all climbs are epuipted with stainless steel anchors. The gorgeous approach and stunning scenery are only a foreshadowing of great things to come. This wall offers a spectacular day or week of mellow climbing and is a wonderful place for someone new to the sport to get there feet wet. Located on the back side of The Republic Of Boulder, The Sunny Side offers afternoon sun on long, easy sport routes. Many of the climbs are 5.7 with sections of bolt protected 5th class and wonderful views from both the anchor and belay. Enjoy.

Getting There

The Sunny Side and Republic of Boulder are both located up a trail that is located on the back side of the large buttress that comes off the middle of the glacier and drops to the lake. Park in the lot at the Worthington Glacier State Park. Walk up the paved path and past a viewing platform. Take a tyrolean traverse across the mane stream flowing out of the glacier. Walk down stream back to the lake to a trail that follows the toe of the buttress and climbs up a ledge that leads to the wall. The trail is in good shape with a few scree fields to navigate yet carrins lead the way. The Republic of Boulder is the steep, magnificent, 130', vertical cliff on your right. The Sunny Side is the mellow cliff that forms the back side of the Republic on you Left. Approach time is about 25 minutes.
