This is the side of the boulder facing the ocean. ...

If you are walking down the trail towards the Yeti boulder, this boulder is on the left about thirty feet before the Yeti. You should see a steeply overhanging cave with a chalked up (and flexing) jug at its lip. On May 12th, 2012, Jens Amundsen and I got real psyched and cleared the exceptionally overgrown backside to this boulder. We unearthed some old classics and, we think, put up a couple of new lines (although I'm the first to admit the possibility that we could be wrong). Needless to say, it was fun to re-discover this boulder. The backside problems are not to be missed!

Getting There

From main trail, walk downhill. When trail forks, go right, walk about twenty feet, and the boulder will be on your left.

Starts on the left side of north facing cave. Sit start at pair of sloping scoops, climb up on bad slopers to a good hold at the lip and make a sizable move to a decent hold and follow 'fin' to topout.Good climbing but be mindful of the good hold at the lip...seems fragile.......[more]   Browse More Classics in CA
