Description

The Pillars of Creation are all of the mini pillar formations just south of The Devils Staircase. Don't let the term mini detour you, as everything here is BIG!! The Pillars or Play Ground as some have called it, offer some of the finest and most intimidating 1-2 pitch cragging on some of the cleanest rock in a surreal alpine setting. All this and more can be found in this pocket of stone hiding in plain sight.

Getting There

Unfortunately The Pillars of Creation are some of the most difficult formations to reach and access due to there proximity and elaborate characteristics. Best approach would probably be Devil's Slide Trail. Just before tail Junction, X country South until the South Gulley Descent becomes accessible for the Dark Angle Buttress. Descend South Gulley of DAB or continue a bit further and drop down next larger adjacent gully, just before South Ridge Trail Skirts hillside and reaches Tahquitz look out. You Have Now Arrived at The Pillars. Descent option is up to you!
