As of Oct 4, Summit Rock at Sanborn County Park is open to climbing seasonally on weekends under a free permit system limiting access to 35 people a day, subject to the results of an ongoing peregrine/climber monitoring program. Climbers interested in climbing there can call the Parks Department reservation line at 408-355-2201, give their contact information, and receive the free permit immediately by email. Please remember to close all gates and observe all posted signs.
This information is a public crowdsourcing effort between the Access Fund,
and Mountain Project. You should confirm closures, restrictions, and/or related dates.
On the rock left of Summit rock proper, and the only route facing away from it. The crux is the mantle move near the bottom, then the face above the ledge is rather simple and enjoyable. The route is rather contrived in that every move could be avoided by climbing left of the bolts, but then that wouldn't be any fun!

I would say this is probably an "s" rating, as the crux is a few feet above the first bolt, and the potential for groudfall if you screw up is high. Finding anything to put your hands on is VERY height dependant in the crux, and there's not too much there if you're short (like me).
